The childhood tray for sand tray therapy, narrates the story of the creator of the tray from childhood to adulthood, with the bridge in the center serving as a bridge between the early years and current state. In the scene at the far left, the creator is seen as a little child with outstretched hands reaching out to the mother who is focused on her own life. The child feels alone and at times abandoned. Sitting not too far from the child is the Grand Aunt, who is close by but not close enough. At the far corner is the father who is surrounded by crawling reptiles to denote that he is completely unavailable. The center scene is the creator as an older lady about to move to the other side of the bridge, there is a man beside her who is walled off showing he is also not available to her. On the bridge are dangerous looking animals and reptiles, signifying that the crossing over is also not without its perils. On the other side, the creator is seen moving towards a beautiful garden with lots of tress and having a beautiful gold house at the end. She is walking towards this garden holding her mother. Her father is still cut off and backing the scene.
