Genogram Sand Tray for My Sand Tray Therapy Class Assignment
We also did this tray outside of the sand tray for sand tray therapy class. We were to pick figurines that represented us and members of our family. I chose the same figurine I have for all of the trays I have made so far for myself; the maid Cinderella figurine. For my mother I chose the lion, and for my father I chose the frog. My mother is the lion because the lion is very prideful and beautiful, they represent regality and control of the animal kingdom. I chose the frog for my father because the frog seems to me to be happy and silly and carefree. My Cinderella figurine represents a hardworking person. The story of Cinderella can kind of represent my family in a very vague way. I was very close to my father growing up as Cinderella was, and my mother and I were not as close, but she was not evil like the step mother was. I was also an only child like Cinderella was. However my father is still alive today but my parents are divorced so there is the separation there between the two of them. My parents were very opposite from each other but they were happy for a while and then they divorced and put me in the middle because I was the only child. I had to work hard to try to keep my relationship with each of my parents.
