Genogram for Sand Tray Therapy Class

This was an interesting tray for my sand tray therapy class assignment in genograms. I first put me in the sand. I am the one who looks like a merry maiden. I think I have figured out some of why I have used this miniature. My mother often made me clean the house, make meals, and watch my baby brother. I did not recognize until now I felt like a maid.
I put my parents in next. While we also have a good relationship now, it was not always that way. I often wish we were closer but I am accepting of the way that is it. I think about the importance of closeness because I am very nostalgic due of their age. I do not want to regret anything in life that could have been changed. I chose a regular man in a suit for my dad. He achieved a long lasting position with a major company in Richmond VA. He was not flashy or pretentious. He made a nice salary and generally was happy. My mom is an alligator. This may not be the perfect representation. I think of her as the mermaid. She was beautiful but there were many lies and secrets. She could be very threatening and cunning.
My brother is the army man. He is my only sibling and baby brother. We are 13 years apart. He works for secret service and lives in DC. I do not see him but once per year. I love him very much and wish we lived closer. He was wild like me growing up. I was threatening to be put in a boarding school but he actually had to live that life in a military school.
I have realized that I have a very small family as I mapped it out. I want to be especially close with all of my family. I think it is so important to have good relationships within your blood relatives. This is my ever ending goal.
