This was such a fun experiment for Sand Tray Therapy Class. I walked a mile through the forest and sat down next to an awesome stream. I collected rocks, flowers, sticks, greenery, and a baby worm. There were so many fun places I could of made 10 dirt trays. I really got in touch with nature. It was a different type of spiritual experience. I really respected all that nature had to offer me this day.
I found the perfect tree and used it roots to help make my circle. I loved running my finger through the dirt and touching each rock and feeling all the groves of its history. I used a rake to round the perimeter. All along the trail I collected the perfect things to go inside. I was hoping a turtle or frog may pass by but instead a worm decided it was his day to be photographed.
The rocks I picked were special to me. The blacks ones came from the water. One was shaped in a heart. I used them in a line. I am not sure why? Then I found shiny reflective rocks from the hillside that looked like diamonds. I made another row with them. Last I laid in the greenery and flowers that I had found along the nature hike.
Just before photographing the warm came and sat up on the rock. It made me laugh. He became the unexpected center of happiness. I am not sure who I am in the dirt tray. Maybe the heart rock. I know I love purple and white flowers so that gave me energy. There were a few sticks in the back for balance. They may have been obstacles for me I need to overcome in my future.
I loved doing this I was so involved I stayed an hour. It started to storm. I left my creation for another to enjoy. I cannot believe the beauty that we pass every day without taking the time to really appreciate it. I left filled with peace.
