Sand Tray Therapy Project: Dark Parts of Self
This sand tray for sand tray therapy was completed inside of the sand tray. To complete this assignment, I actually wanted to refer back to my Jung personality/emotions sheet to tap into one of the negative emotions I listed and build my tray around it. The emotion that I chose to build upon for this tray was jealousy. In the center of the tray, I have an angry bird miniature, a skull, and a witch. They are all elevated on top of a hill. I chose each of these objects because I see each of them as a part of my feelings with jealousy. I'm angry sometimes when I'm jealous (angry bird). Also, I see the skull as an image of something decaying and disgusting. I used the witch to portray some of the mischief of a person that is jealous. Circling around the objects I have different colored gemstones, with the purpose that they are supposed to shine light upon these negative traits about myself, and hopefully provide more clarity and insight into accepting and processing this part of myself. On the two opposite corners of the tray I placed a Cinderella miniature in each corner. I placed two to provide more emphasis on the fact that I try to turn away from this part of me instead of trying to understand where that emotion stems from.
