Sand Tray Therapy Class: Childhood Home Tray

This sand tray for sand tray therapy class was very fun and interesting for me. My sand was still wet from class so I used this to mold the places that I didn't have a miniature for. I split the sand into three separate spaces.

The place on the farthest left side was my grandparents house that I lived in with my parents when I was very little. The center was my house from when I lived over seas in England. It was my favorite of the four places that I lived growing up (I did not include my second home because it was not important to me).

The third place was the house I lived in when I was in high school. It was the first house my parents bought. In the first slot is half of my grandparents house up again the wall, the pool off to the left of the house, a tree in their backyard and the deck off to the left as well and the path leading up to the front porch.

In the middle was the house from England that I drew in my house tree person image. My garage is off to the left with the willow tree in the back and the hedges behind the house with flowers, a butterfly, and the bird. The bird represents all the bird cages that were in our neighbors backyard (he kept parakeets) I included the orange car to represent my mother's orange Volvo that I would ride to school in every day.

I put a black in the window of the house by embedding him in the sand. I put the crab apple tree out front in the yard and I included the brick wall that surrounded our yard. The last thing I put in was the silver heart to represent which one I felt happiest in and the most safe. The last house on the right had a big tree in the back and a lake in the very corner of the tray.

In the front of the sand tray for sand tray therapy are little leaves that used to grow u pin front of our house and the tree by the drive way which we buried my black cat underneath.
