Positive Behavior Plan

Quick Guide for Teachers / School Counselors /

School Psychologist / Administrators

Step 1:

Find the Child’s Currency

(Positive Choices Make This Happen Worksheet)

Step 2:

Negative Choices Make This Happen Worksheet

Step 3:

Fill out the Choice Circle or Choice Square

(Tape on Desk)

Step 4:

When Negative Behavior Starts…

(The Adult Points to the Choice Circle or Square and the child makes a choice)

Step 5:

The choice is made. Follow through with the choice chosen by the child.

Step 6

Little Extras:

“ReThink It © Reminder Cards”

These can be used as a “warning” card. These can be sent home to parents to show that the teacher is trying to work with the child to improve behavior. Sometimes teachers pass these out at lunch, recess, or the hallway.   

“You Were Caught Making Good Choices Cards”

*Make sure to catch the child showing good behavior and pass these out as much as you possibly can. Children and their parents love to get these!
