Play Therapy / Sand Tray Therapy Reality Show Auditions

The play therapy reality show auditions sand tray was completed during a very emotional time for me. I was having a difficult time/week and I created the work sheet during an emotional, angry and emotional time. I choose the following words: frustrated, annoyed, angry, content, calm, and grateful. This was a very powerful exercise to complete.
I choose dinosaur bones for frustrated, because at the time I felt frustrated and I thought that if the bones were real they would feel dry and crumbly; which represented my current state. I choose an armadillo for the feeling annoyed because when I see armadillos I feel annoyed, they she seem like they do not belong, they always seem out of place like an animal that should only be found in a foreign country. I choose a snake for the feeling angry because when I see or think about a snake I become angry; angry because of the fear that I am being threatened.
For the more positive emotions I choose content and represented contentment with a sleeping baby in a basket. I used a greenish clear stone to represent the feeling of calm, and a wooden cross to represent grateful.
This display of emotions were supposed to represent the different parts of self. I do believe that all of these emotions are ones that I am familiar with on a regular basis I may feel angry, frustrated, annoyed, content, calm, and grateful. I do have a tendency to strike when angry much like a snake, but not always, but definitely have the possibility to do harm verbally to others. I am also guilty of feeling depleted and dried out like the dinosaur bones, when I feel as if I do not have anything left to give others. I work diligently at keeping myself calm and grateful. Whenever I am experiencing frustration I remind myself of the daily blessings that I have in life, doing this reminds that things are not as bad as I sometimes think. I choose a sleeping baby in a basket because I think that a sleeping baby is one of the most content scenes to witness. Sleeping babies look as if they are carefree, peaceful, and joyous.
