Play Therapy Game: Friend or Foe
The play therapy game I created is called friend or foe. This game would work with elementary or even middle school students. The game is closely related to the game of Life, but instead of choosing to get a job or go to college, in this game the players have to choose to either be a bully in school or a good friend. Once the player chooses a path, they are to roll the dice and choose a card of a matching color. The “bullies” choose from the bully stack and the “friends” choose from the friend pile. The cards have different situations on them and tell the player how many spaces to move forward or back. At the end of the game, the friends end up in the circle of friends, and the bully ends up in the lone circle. This game shows students that the choices that they make not only affect them, but also the people around them. The bully may appear powerful and have many people around them, but in the end the bully ups up all alone.
