Bingo/Feel-O Game for Play Therapy Class
Materials: FEEL-O Cards; FEEL-O Chips; Scenario/Sentence Cards; Reference Sheet for Caller
My play therapy game was a combination of the game my group came up with in class and the classic game Bingo. I wanted to adapt my group’s game to fit the needs of high school students. I kept the concept of the original game of Bingo and just changed the name to Feel-O to illustrate that we will be talking about feelings. I also wanted to enhance their SAT vocabulary by using stronger vocabulary to describe their emotions. For instance, if I call the word SAD, the students will have to know that the word PENSIVE on their card is a synonym for it. If I read a sentence/scenario in which a character is acting SHY, they will have to know that means TIMID.
The first person to get FEEL-O is the winner; but it doesn’t end there! They will have to roll the die to determine how they will illustrate their winning row.
Narrate it out- Tell a story in which you or someone you know has felt this way
Dance it out- Complete an action/movement/dance that reminds you of this emotion
Act it out- Act out a movie/television show/time in your life when you felt
Sing it out- Sing a song that reminds you of these feelings
Give a shout out- Shout out a person that makes you feel this way if positive and a person who helps you if the feeling is negative
You Choose- You decide how to illustrate this feeling to the clas
