Front:: Play Therapy- Dollhouse
Building the play therapy dollhouse was so much fun for me. I have lived in 3 houses so I my house represents a collection of all of them. When I first started this project, I wanted to make it fun and enjoyable. Before I started building the house I got my Legos down from my parents attic and started building the furniture. It didn't take me that long and once I got all that I needed I could figure out how big the rooms needed to be.
I used material that I got from the material that was tougher than styrofoam. I used velcro to keep each side closed and also cut out holes for the windows and back door. The floor is covered in a hardwoood lamantating material and I used the same thing on the stairs. Each room is different with a different 'wallpaper'. When I was finished with placing the furniture in I wanted to make it more personal so I decided to print off some pictures representing each room.
I used wax to keep the play therapy furniture in place and it wont mess up the house nor the Legos. It is also good because I can take pieces in and out and nothing stays permanent. I placed my parents room on the top back because 1) They are the head of the house and 2) it would have been hard to make another room on the other 2 floors. :)
This project was fun for me and I plan to keep around until it falls apart.
