Easy and Simple Genograms for Play Therapy Clients
In creating this play therapy genogram, I noticed the similarities among my family members among the generations. My play therapy genogram includes my grandparents (maternal and paternal), my aunts and uncles, my parents, my siblings, and my child.
The theme, unfortunately, is the fractured relationships presented within my family. For example, on both my paternal and maternal sides, there are six siblings that do not speak with one another. Likewise, one of my sisters does not speak to me.
All of the other relationships in this play therapy genogram are healthy, except for my divorce.
I find it interesting that there are numerous "broken relationships" consistent over the generations of my family.
I think it would be interesting and prudent to create a more extensive play therapy genogram in order to examine more closely the relationships among my extensive family.
