Day 3 of 7 Extended Sand Tray Therapy for Student #4
This is day 3 of my extended sand tray therapy assignment. It is perhaps the most stressful day of the extended traying, as the level of stress hit a high.
In this sand tray you can see the following miniatures- a bear, a rhino, 2 cars, a figurine reaching for the sky, and a prisoner.
The bear represents the gruffness of life, the feeling that there are times where things are just very tough, and there can be no escape. The rhino represents my break up with my girlfriend, because I felt things were just not working out. The break up was tough and I could tell that she was hurt by it, but I felt like it was for the best. I charged right on. The prisoner represents the midterm I missed because of all the stressors, and it adds another stressor onto my life now in spite of all of this.
The cars represent the attempt to escape from it all, but being unable to as the outside world is blocked off, represented by the slinky.
The Freud figurine represents me looking at the world outside, and my current stressful world, and realizing that I need to confront my fears and feelings, before I can get back to the normalcy of the world that I know and love.
The three figurines: Bugs Bunny, Donald Duck, and the winged fairy represent the feelings I want to feel; joy, freedom, happiness. Until I can get past my current predicaments, however, I cannot experience these feelings.
