Creative Play Therapy Activity for Play Therapist | The Rainforest
I got rainforest as the theme for my play therapy activity of the miniature world. Honestly, at first I thought, "What in the world am I going to do with this?" I like to be prepared for everything so I wanted to challenge myself to make this world with only things I already had and in less than thirty minutes. I though about what my clients (who are children) would most enjoy by making this world. Since it has been so beautiful lately I knew that they would enjoy going outside. So came up with the idea of gathering rocks, leaves, etc. from outside and putting in a water bottle. I thought it might leave me enough room to put some small play therapy miniatures in as well but all I could fit were sequins.
I then added some water and it really looked like a rain forest! So it became a different take on the feelings bottle. The greenery in the bottle started to wilt and die after a few hours so if I wanted this to be a make and take I would probably have to use fake greenery. However, I could also use this to show that the feelings we are currently feelings will wilt and change and new ones will arise like new blooms.
